When Afro Pop artiste, Kurl Songx released his debut Jennifer Lomotey in 2017, he won a lot of admiration and his followers appreciated his music talent and anticipated a flourishing music career in the coming years.
However, the performance of the Highly Spiritual artiste hasn’t been encouraging particularly when the likes of Kuami Eugene, KiDi, King Promise and Kwesi Arthur who rose to prominence on the music scene at the time he did are still forces to reckon with.
But while concerns about his performance have been raised by industry players such as Highlife artiste, KK Fosu who recently criticised Highly Spiritual for his music woes, Kurl Songx has assured well-wishers and his fans that all is well with him and that it is too early for anyone to rule him out of the game. “I have heard all the concerns but I don’t think I have become a spent force yet. For me, it is too early for anyone to rule me out of the game because I’m still in it. Contrary to what is out there that I have fizzled out, I can say that is not true because I have been very busy in the studios with my debut album. “Last year, for instance, I released Trumpet and did some features as well and I’m still working on new songs. My latest song, Lobe, released few weeks ago. “Perhaps, I haven’t been consistent with my releases, hence, the long silence after Trumpet but I can say that it will be a thing of the past now because I have put in a lot of work in the past year and the results will show soon,” Kurl Songx said.__________________————————-When he entered the music scene with his controversial song Jennifer Lomotey featuring Sarkodie, Kurl Songx drew a lot of comparisons to the popular Ghanaian singer/rapper, Castro.

Kurl Songx received good reviews and performed on a number of big stages and the recognition earned him four nominations—Best New Artiste, Best Collaboration, Best Highlife Song and Best Male

Hiplife artiste Docta Flow is accusing Kuami Eugene of stealing lyrics from his song ‘Chichinga’.
Kuami Eugene used the lines “ma bie gya, a ma obi adwa, afei ma bie new chapter” in Okyeame Kwame’s ‘Ino Be My Matter’ song he was featured in.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Docta Flow said those lines are lyrics he wrote in the ‘Chichinga’ song which also features Kuami Eugene.
“We did the song before Kuami Eugene was signed unto his label. A year and some months after the song was released, I went to Lynx office, to meet Kuami and his manager but they treated me as if my song was substandard,” he added.
According to him, every suggestion he made to get a video done for his song or rewrite the song was shot down.
Docta Flow explained he again suggested another collaboration but Kuami Eugene said his plate was full.
“Because they had made me feel so, I was shocked to hear him use my words in a song,” Docta Flow stated.
He told Andy Dosty, Tuesday that he expected the ‘Confusion’ hitmaker to credit him in the song or acknowledge him.
Docta Flow explained he does not want to take the issue to court but wants to raise awareness concerning song theft and the copyright issues.
He said many underground artistes sometimes are not given a hearing when their songs are stolen by artiste in a much higher position.
Hitz FM’s effort to reach Okyeame Kwame to ask him questions on the song proved futile as the singer has travelled abroad for a show.
The management team of Kuami Eugene also refused to comment on the matter.
Kuami Eugene over the years has been accused severally of either stealing lyrics or a beat of another song. First, it was ‘Angela’, then ‘Confusion’ and ‘Wish Me Well’.
Recently he was accused of stealing lyrics for his verse on the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2019 theme song titled ‘Our Music Lives’, featuring the voices of Amandzeba, KiDi, Adina, Joe Mettle, Teephlow and Kuami Eugene.
According to reports on social media, the ‘Aku Shika’ singer's verse was sampled from a song titled ‘Ragamuffin’ by a female Jamaican Dancehall artiste, Koffee.
In an interview, Kuami Eugene said he was not fazed by the accusations.
