The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced the filing fees for the upcoming 2024 December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
EC emphasized that the filing fees for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections will remain the same as compared to the 2020 General Election .
According to the statement, The presidential candidate from the various political parties will be required to pay a filing fee of GH¢100,000 while parliamentary candidates will pay GH¢10,000.
This conclusion was made at the just ended EC and IPAC meeting held on Thursday 7th march 2024, where the commission met with various party committee to discus the plan for the 7th December General Election.
Following the outcome of the meeting some decisions were made;
- The official date for the presidential and parliamentary elections remains unchanged , that’s Saturday 7th December, 2024.
- There will be a limited voter registration exercises that will span for a period of 21days.
- The exercises will commence on Tuesday 7th May and ends on Monday 27th day of May 2024.
- The exercise will be conducted in the District Offices of the Electoral Commission and in a difficult to access areas.
